Lead your own life.

Sounds classy, right?

Ha!

You know when you’re doing it?  When you’re really leading your own life?  It’s when you set goals, make decisions, and you do what you said you’d do.

It’s classy all right, and it will bring up some $h*t if you aren’t used to doing it!

(People pleasers beware – doing what you *think* other people want you to do is not leading your life – it’s not leading your life either. It’s actually lying.  We’ll talk more about that some other time though!)

Leading your life means you’re deciding where you’re headed, how you’re getting there, and when all the steps between point A and Z are happening.

Classy I said, not sexy!

It’s boring to lead your life… Until you start getting results.

Results are epic.  They feel good. They look great on you.  You get to feel proud.

Side Note:  Please don’t read this as “the hustle.”  This isn’t that. This takes your life, your strengths, your sleep needs, and your general self-care into account.

I’ll liken it to weight loss, since we all know I know a thing or two about that! (I wrote that book if you want to read it.)  You don’t want to crash diet and do a bunch of crazy stuff to get to goal weight or once you get to that weight you won’t be able to maintain it without all the crash dieting and crazy stuff.

We want sane, steady, predictable results that we’re in control of and that we can do in our normal, everyday, lives.

Leading your life is like that.

It starts with a plan, involves you being kind to you and following through on what you want – even when other people have thoughts and feelings, even when it’s hard.

Do you have questions on this?  I want to answer them – comment here and let me know – I’ll say more next week if we need it.
