Are you sure you want to fix that?

Stop right there.

Please.

Stop trying to fix the things that annoy you about you.

Those things aren’t the problem.  They are a symptom of one of the following two things:

  1. Your excellence.
  2. Who you are.

Let me explain…

When you’re excellent at something, you’re usually not that great at some other stuff. It’s a trade off. We don’t get where we are by being pretty good at all the things. We are remarkable at SOME stuff – and that is who we are. So if you’re trying to be “everything” you can stop.

No really! You can.

See, we need you in your gifts, not in your weak spots.

Then, there’s the case of who you are. And this is usually related to your excellence but it’s harder to track that because it’s you. We notice what we suck at more than what we’re great at. That just is.

That’s also why you need to have people in your life who reflect YOU back to you.

Your own viewpoint of your life doesn’t always take the most powerful perspective.

You are brilliant at what you’re brilliant at – and that is why you’re here. That is who you came to be and we need you in that.

We do not need you trying to get good at things you were never meant to be good at – and we sure as heck don’t need you judging yourself for not being good at those things either.
Okay, get back to it.
