You get home after work, you did good all day, you might have even worked out and then… Kablooey! Sh*t hits the fan, plan out the window, wine in hand – pass the chips.

It isn’t wrong. It isn’t abnormal. You’re fine. You aren’t broken or weak. You’re “normal.” Just like the rest of us crazies!

You (and me, and the other gals you may compare yourself against) have a limited supply of willpower to use each day. So, if you use yours at your job and with your kids – when you get home and finally have a few minutes that are really just for you… Kablooey!!

You let go, you give in, you can’t white-knuckle it all the way to bed – so you overeat, watch too much Hulu, drink a bottle of wine… Or maybe all three? I don’t judge.

It’s hard to hold on to our lives for dear life. It takes a lot out of us and all that’s left at the end of the day is our reactions, our lizard brains. Our desire to feel comfort, and ease, and gentle-ness.

I feel you.

So, what do you do?

You make the best plan you can today, for tomorrow. You make as many decisions ahead of time as you can and then you go to bed – because tomorrow you are going to be an adult again. It is hard work, you’ll be tired, you’ll want to not be so adult-y all the time – but that is how it works.

Any questions? Post them in the comments and I’ll answer them!

BIG love,
Caryn
